I need to work with illustrator.. Feb 28, AM. The link works for me. You will need to sign back in. Try reloading the link to see if it works.
The Apple Java link is working again. Give it a try. Feb 28, PM. Linc's link is the correct one, but the download itself is being a yo-yo today. Sometimes it's up and you can download it, and two minutes later you can't.
Just keep trying. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page. Apr 18, AM. I am having the exactly same problem right now, i have downloaded Java 8 but it still ask me to download the legacy SE 6 version. Also tried to clear the apple website cookies, data and opened it in other browsers and computers but the link does not work either, keep getting the loop error.

There are other discussions involving the same type of problem with different Apple Support downloads so Kurt Lang's solution is the best one. The link will work eventually. I found this, which installs the legacy Java SE 6.
I'd rather force AI to run on Java 8 but this fixes many broken apps with the same problem. Run in terminal:.
May 13, PM. Part of the installation process run by the Java update in the link from Linc Davis involves un installing "the Apple-provided Java applet plug-in from all web browsers. I think this is just a virtual machine used for legacy apps and is not necessarily your primary system otherwise. If I was installing Java 6 to replace Java 8 it probably would have refused to go backwards and would have required a complete uninstall and then installation of Java 6, but this is just an add-on, a fix if you will as far as I can see.
AI is looking for its Java 6 and now the salient parts exist on the computer after they were wiped out by the upgrade. I optimally want to force AI to run on Java 8 by fixing its pathways, but that's a whole other issue I haven't found the solution for yet.
I believe the "installation improvements" included in the update involved removal of the plugins from all web-browsers since a common attack vector involving Java is through the browser. The Java RE remains to keep Adobe happy.
Someone corrected me and I came back to correct what I said. They said the command line fix is fooling AI into thinking it's running on Java 6 but it's really running on Java 8, which makes sense since that's what the computer says my version is. Also, those files have zero content, so they're just place-holders.

Affinity offers a day trial on either product from their website. Designer, and Photo share the same document format as is the intention for Publisher and one can hop between applications via the File menu. Both vector and raster formats supported. Again, another recommendation for Affinity Design and Affinity Photo as professional, affordable replacements for old versions of Illustrator and Photoshop. There's absolutely no point in trying to get old versions of Adobe apps to work, or worse, staying on older OS version to run them, when there are decent, modern bit Cocoa alternatives.
Apr 3, PM in response to benwiggy In response to benwiggy. Apr 3, PM. Did you ever solve this? Looked at responses and followed links and nothing is working. I am going crazy! Can not afford CC. Did anything work for you??? Sep 6, PM. Same thing here after the current upgrade to OS Sierra. This time it won't allow me. Oct 20, AM. For which you need to turn off SIP. For Acrobat: you'll probably need a variety of apps, depending on your uses. There are plenty of OCR apps. Dreamweaver is perhaps the hardest to replace.
There are plenty of code-writing apps with previews. And you can probably find an FTP client that syncs your pages to the remote site. Communities Get Support. Sign in Sign in Sign in corporate. Browse Search. Ask a question. User profile for user: Diane Marinconz Diane Marinconz.
